Layla Taj loves espionage films just as much as the next person. James Bond and other portrayals of secret agents have always fascinated her. A notable authentic Egyptian dance star, actress and model. Layla,while in Cairo had been asked to keep an eye on certain powerful Middle Eastern oligarchs one night and report back to the entertainment director.  As Layla recalls " the Egyptian waiter came over to me and said I was sitting with the four most powerful men in the Middle East." Nothing transpired except a sexual advance which Layla quickly dissipated. That was the end of her experience as a spy, but her career continued. 

 

America, Europe,Cairo, Dubai, and the Sanai. Ms.Taj presented five-star exquisite shows as an in house contracted principal Egyptian dancer in the five-star resorts and hotels. Presidents, heads of state, kings and Saudi Royalty were patrons who caught her show.

Upon returning to the states, she was the talk of the town landing headlines in world news publications.

Layla  carved a path in the industry and earned the honorific "The Dancing Queen." 

 

One day while surfing the internet, she came upon the story of HEKMET FAHMY.  She immediately contacted her Egyptian friends and asked them to send her any information about Hekmet. Layla wanted to know all about her life story. As she began to dig deeper and deeper down the research path, she was more intrigued.

 Layla discovered there were movies made about the beginning stages of WWII “The Desert War" but many were poorly made. The award-winning film "The English Patient' touches only briefly on the subject and uses the desert as a backdrop while others were a war movie; a man’s man movie about General Rommel

But many missed the mark of the real star. The female James Bond of our time people have been waiting for...                                                                          Hekmet Fahmy!​

 

Ideas flooded Layla's imagination and she envisioned a movie that would make jaws drop.

A movie that would take an audience back in time to the late 1930's when Cairo was a bustling cosmopolitan 

city.   Hekmet's relationship with the love of her life  "John Eppler" and their mission,  pulls on your heart strings. The maze of espionage, keeps you sitting up in your seat intrigued as the true facts of the beginning stages of WWII will blow your mind. The audience will no doubt say " Wow, I had no idea this was going on!"

 

Like Sylvester Stallone to Rocky, Layla Taj knows that no one can play the part of Hekmet Fahmy except her. She understands her heart, her mind, her brilliant dancing and possesses the gorgeous sultry aesthetics of an Egyptian Star Dancer because she is one. The scenes of Hekmet's dance can only be replicated by Layla Taj. Eyes will be glued to the screen, and she will send the senses soaring!

 

Layla writes academic articles on the side about her international travels dancing which have been published. She used that skill and wrote the screenplay. She bought every book she could find on the subject matter, and she researched extensively into the facts.
